Default Gizmo Project

In an effort to one-up market leader Skype, Gizmo Project has announced a new "All Calls Free" plan that makes calling landline and mobile phones in 60 countries free of charge. The catch: both individuals must be active Gizmo users.

Skype currently offers free calling to traditional phone numbers within the United States only. Gizmo's new offering covers landline and mobile phones in 17 countries and landline-only calls in another 43. No fees will be charged for calls to these numbers, the Gizmo Project says.

The promotion is intended to bring more user user-signups to the Internet telephony service. In order to make and receive calls free, both sides must have downloaded and signed up to Gizmo. The user receiving the call must have entered their phone number into their contact information, which the caller clicks to dial.

Ditto on that, Desiree. I like to hang around and see how reliable the company is. But it does sound like a neat deal

But just think. Up until a few years ago dell was an unknown. Look where they are now. I'm not saying they are number one but they really have come a long way.

And let me guess, if they are not a Gizmo customer, the cost is unbelievable high. It would have to be, or else how are they going to make money. I am still waiting for landline companies to offer cheaper rates for long distance. I think they have come down some, but they aren't offering too many inticing deals. I wonder how much long distance landline usage has decreased since cell phones have come around, especially in the last few years when things have been cheaper yet. That would have to effect the phone companies somehow. Maybe that's why they are offering cellphones too.

What's the monthly fee going to be? If you're not going to be making regular international calls, it might not be worth it.
