Cell phone extras
Just curious if anyone uses their cell phone for more than just making phone calls. That's about all I use mine for, though I know it has a myriad of other goodies tacked unto it.

I do
I use my cell phone---one of the two---- to get on the internet with my lap top while traveling when I can't pick up a wireless that is unlocked. I use the other to make call and recive calls at the same time. My one is a camera phone so I can take a pic and upload it to my lap top. I have and ear phone and a head set depending on how hands free I need to be.

I take back the "I just use mine to make calls" comment. I forgot that at times I'll send a picture to my husband just for entertainment's sake. He's taken pictures of the deer he has hunted down just so I can see the big buck he'll be bringing home.

I like to use the calculator and the stop watch on mine for various things.

I've seen my husband whip his out to figure out gas mileage like that as well. Like I said before, I often forget about the goodies on the phone. I've also seen my dad spend a few minutes of his freetime playing games on his phone. It's a pretty comical site.

cell phones can almost do anything a computer can.... You can make calls text message Instant message on the big messengers such as AIM YAHOO MSN and you can check your email on them. You can now do videos on your phone as well as take pictures. You can have GPS on your phone. its a bit crazy I think the newest phone ive seen is a phone and if you turn the back side of it its a key board klke a computer key board.

Nice . . . with itty, bitty keys. I have big hands, and I'd hate to use one of those. It would just make me frustrated.

I only use mine for phone calls. I do like the caller ID option. I do not do any text messaging. I don't have a camera in phone nor do I need one. I don't download ringtones because I like the "normal" style ring. I don't care to listen to music or someone talking when my phone rings. It's not so bad at home, but some of the ring styles are a little inappropriate for certain places. I can't believe the nubmer of children that have there own cell phones. That's good if they are out and parents want to keep in touch with them.

I like the caller ID part, too. I am not one to talk on the phone very much, but my hubby is a phonaholic. I've seen him talking on the landline and cell phone many times. He sends pix, uses the calculator all the time, it's his contact list for organizations, he plays games on it. I don't think he texts anyone (yet) 'cause he prefers speaking to them. I think if he left the house without his phone, he'd feel naked and have to run back inside to get it. I just use it for my long distance calling and emergencies.

ahhh - my husband has caller id and I don't. We've talked briefly about having it added to my phone but just haven't gotten around to it yet, but I know we will. And when we do, I will love that too.
