Did you know that some cell phones have a strip in them that will become colored if you take it into the bathroom and set it on the counter while you take a shower? Then if you ever have to take the phone in to get worked on- they will ask if the phone has ever had water damage and it will void your warranty.....found out the hard way!!

meant to say the steam from the shower would be able to discolor the strip in the phone

--I had my cell on the table and tipped my coffee----it did spray some onto my closed cell phone----I took a hair dryer to it---but it did not work-----I had to replace it because my warranty was voided----water damamge is not covered.

I wouldn't have believed this except it happened to my brother. They asked him if it had ever been dropped in water or had water spilled on it. He said no way and then they asked if he ever took it into the bathroom while he showered. He said yes and thats when they told him about the steam- he wasn't real happy!

Whoa there! Steam? I can see water affecting the phone. But steam. Unbelievable.

Steam is very invasive. I can see how it would damage a phone, since it would penetrate every area of the phone.
