Question Text messaging

Ok I don't pay the extra $ per month so I can text message so I have never tried it, but isn't that a little more pain to do than it is worth? I guess I just don't see the point in it?!?!

I don't either. I don't pay the extra and I don't want to right now. I supposed the more you do it the better it gets. I' just phone or email for now.

I don't text message but some people in my family do. I don't think it is worth the extra money. After trying to type on a cell phone, I think it gets annoying. Sometimes it takes too long to even program peoples name and number into it. I suppose if it's a one or two word message it's not so bad. When think I do like it for is my husbands family might text for him to call when he is free. That is nice because there are times when it is not appropriate for his phone to ring. And their call isn't important, they just want to talk.

I can't seem to type very well on such little keys. I guess it's what a person is used to. By the time I start typing, I forget the message. I'm too used to qwerty. And then I have to look at the keypad to see which alpha character is associated with which number, etc. It's easier to just call and leave a voice message.

I text quite a bit. For an extra 10 bucks a month, I can text and receive 250 messages. If you go over that, it's just 10 cents a message. It's worth it because you don't have to worry about using and possibly going over the minutes on your plan. If you have a short message to convey, or need to have a short conversation with your kids, or whoever, its definitely the way to go. My friend and I often have conversations this way. It's also easier to get away with at work. It only takes a minute to text a message to someone and no one can accuse you of personal phone calls. It's probably why kids like it so much. They can text each other and the teacher is none the wiser.

I suppose it is more discreet, but doesn't the phone still ring when you receive a text message- or not- I know nothing about text messaging!!
