Is Bose the best home system out there?
I am getting ready to move to a brand new house and am wondering if the Bose home entertainment system is the best out there.
I am big into watching at least one movie a day and love the theater feel, but would like to bring that feel into my home.
I do not really have a price range that I am looking at, but do want something that I can use for not only movies, but for watching sports on TV and entertaining my friends.
Is there anything out there that can match the Bose or is this the best entertainment package out there?

The only way Bose could be considered best is they may be the best in the consumer market. They're good speakers, but better is available for the same amount of money.

I think a lot depends on what you want to spend and what you consider "the best". There are a lot of good systems out there and there are really good speaker systems that can be used to make existing components feel like surround sound.

I agree. With bose are we paying for their marketing or for the system itself. I think that if a person shopped around a little they may come up with some a little less expensive.

Do yourself a favor- do some research and don't buy the Bose!! You can get a lot better quality than Bose and often for less the price.

bose hype
I personaly think Bose has great hype. I am sure they are nice---compact too!!! I am from the old school and not extremely sold by hype---but will have to admit---I am ready to go make a comparison.

want some ral family fun? Build your own system! Don't go for just the hyped up system. Plywood and staro foam makes great boxes to house speakers and they can be designed to go along and function with your decor. learn a hair about speaker wireing and do utilize some old but goodie speakers we all have somewhere in the garage--basement--or attic. You can build a couple of narrow but tall and wide moveable speaker walls with plywood---foam--paint an assortment of used speakers and rollar castors. All the wires for each unit should connect to one outlet that goes into the system reciever output speakers. For even more versatility--put 6 inch shelves on the back side so it can be used as a book case---roll it around to the book shelf sode when your parents come over----lol---they will be impressed with their little book worms!!!

That sounds like work but a project well worth the undertaking. Sometimes doing the task like that really pays off in the end when you can say, "Oh, you like my stereo? I built it."
