Default Denon Complete home theatre system!

The S-301 is what I found to be the top of the line home theatre system out there from Denon. I didn't really see any comments on this product though from people that have purchased it and their reactions to it. So if anyone has anything on this please let me know. There is a brief description on this product below.

Thanks for your help in advance.

S-301

$1,599.00

The S-301 is one of the most innovative and stylish home theater systems that merges the latest technology for superior sound, outstanding picture quality, simple and convenient connectivity and operation, and the utmost sophistication to integrate into any interior design. Providing a new and exciting way to enjoy the most diverse variety of home entertainment, including direct connectivity to your portable players – such as iPod or Rio MP3 players – the S-301 delivers breathtaking images and dynamic surround sound like you have never experienced before

Default What is so great?

I guess I don't understand why this type of system is so much better than just a regular stereo system?

With the music stations through satelite and cable, etc., I'm finding I don't use the stereo system anymore. I have CD's that are getting dusty, and my poor tape collection is stuck in a corner. I wonder if the use of cassette tapes is obsolete?

I definitely think cassette tapes are obsolete. Have a yard sale and see if there are any antique collectors willing to take them off your hands.

Not only that, but some of my tapes are like one hit wonders that have sentimental meaning but are probably never going to be released in any other format. I hate to think of the money I spent for some of those tapes but I still like listening to the oddball songs when I'm in the mood.

Denon is a very good choice albeit a spendy choice- at least for their top of the line systems.

Default Regarding Cassettes

It would be worth taking this little buggers down to some sort of audio expert to see if they can be converted into cd's. I wouldn't throw them away yet, but know that they will wear out a lot faster than cd's.
