As long as they don't make the huge mistake of putting games on it, which would alienate a ton of people from some games :\.

EDIT: But then again... only Nintendo would be that stupid (See: N64 expansion pak)

They could put games on it as long as they do what the PC industry does. That is, offer two versions of a game: an HD-DVD one and DVD one (possibly on multiple discs).

Im pretty sure that down the road their is gonna be a revison of the console where the hd-dvd replace the standard dvd drive

the core version

the premium version

the hd dvd version

Historically, addon hardware for consoles never does too well.
