Rumors continue to swirl around a handheld game or multimedia unit from Microsoft & Bill Gates is doing nothing to quell them. He says that there is a Microsoft handheld game strategy, and that it is also aimed at attacking the iPod's market dominance.

After the success of the Xbox, I can believe that Microsoft is going to do everything in its power to get into the hand-held game market.

I am sure they will come up with something pretty slick too, they are just going to have to play catch up for quite a while.

Yes, now that Xbox 360 is finished they are working on code name "Alexandria". Hoping to possibly have a handheld gaming system/music similar to ipod, in 2007.

I thought maybe they would reveal something for Christmas this year, but it sounds like it is close anyway.

Its going to happen anytime a competitor comes out with a new product, the competion must push to come out with something similar or end up becoming obsolete.
