Default Mannual vs on screen menu

Got a question. When I was growing up and until not too many years ago, when YOu had a problelm with your displays on lyour screen, you just simply opened up a door in front of the tv and mannually adjusted. Now you have to figure out how to use your remote to get into your menu adjustment screen and then wonder how you really are supposed to set all the adjustments. It seems to me the mannually adjusts are better for certain people including me.
