Default The good and the bad!

We have been looking for a tv, so I have been doing research. I found this information in Consumer Reportson the pros and cons of these tv's and thought I would share. I hope it helps.

PICTURE-TUBE (CRT) HDTV

Good choice if you want a low-priced, midsized set, even though it's relatively bulky.
Common screen sizes 26 to 36 inches.

Typical prices About $800 for a 32-inch 4:3 HD-ready set; $1,300 for a similar 34-inch 16:9 set.

Pros Mature technology with proven reliability and long life. The best sets have top-notch picture quality, with excellent detail, color, and contrast. No limit on viewing angle. Lowest price for an HDTV.

Cons Maximum screen size is 36 inches, and those are becoming scarce. Bulky, at 2 feet deep or more, though a few new “slim” models have cut depth to 16 inches or less. Heavy, often 100 pounds or more.

(Price estimates for all types of TVs are based on prices advertised at the time this report was posted.)

If you're going to read product reviews, Consumer Reports magazine does a great job of giving you an in-depth analysis. I read the magazine when I was in the market for my first car, and their comparisons really helped me make an informed decision.

But the real test may be in a trip to your local electronic store and actually listiening and comparing the different products you have researched.
