Antenna problems
I put an antenna on top of my house to pick up my local channels so I didn't have to pay DirecTv for them. Everything worked great for about 4 months and then one day I couldn't get any local channels at all. I checked all my connections, messed around with the antenna direction, etc. and nothing worked. Any ideas on what happened?

Have you checked the actual cable coming from the antennea? You could have a critter that chewed through the line.

I have to say that is a very creative way to get past the expences Possable critter... Is it possable that you were away from home and had a lighting strike?

I agree. The cable is probably bad somewhere between the antenna and the tv, especially if it worked good for so long.

I would say the most likely problem is the connection somewhere. May you can have a friend or someone come over. Sometimes a third party can see things we tend to miss or pass by thinking it just can't be the problem. I sometimes have to do that with my work. I f I write an article and something just doesn't look right, I will give it to a fellow to my husband or someone to look at. Yes, my husband can tell me if there is something wrong with out fear of being thrown out the window. I love him and value his ipinion. Anyway, just a thought.

antenna
I hope you figure out what it is... With the way they charge for just basic news channels and local channels its too expensive...

I will have to try getting a new cable to hook up between the antenna and tv. Hopefully that takes care of it.

You never know if the problem is uber-simple or complicated. For example . . . I teach for an online school, and many times my students will tell me, "My mic doesn't work." Then they check to see if its plugged in.

Ya that is funny, but I checked and rechecked all my connections, plugins, etc. Oh well!
