Default Quicker pics

We own a Sony Mavica. I'm wondering if there's a way to increase the speed at which it takes pictures. Right now, I push the button, and then a couple of seconds later it snaps the picture. Maybe that's just one of its limitations.

I used to own one of those too and it seems to me that there was something in the owners manual that told you how to rectify that problem, but I can't remember exactly what it was.

Back to the owner's manual. I'm thinking that I should just start there instead of posting questions.

I know where mine is. My husband is (super) organized. He files every manual and warranty the second it comes into the house. I'm just too lazy to read through the technical garbage. I'd rather read a forum (ha!)

That could just be how the camera is designed. We had a camera like that and it was terrible to work with because I could never get a decent shot. I passed it on to my husband and now have a camera that isn't as painfully slow.

We have a canon sure shot and it does the same thing. It's not too bad unless you have antsy pets and children. In my case I have both. An ever on the go kitten and 5 wound up grandkids. That's why I was asking about the monster coming down in price for the holidays.

My Canon Powershot has a multiple shots/second feature that I can use. I hate the slack time - you miss so much!

Default Missed shots

I can't count the number of times I caught pictures of just flailing arms or legs instead of the whole athlete in the middle of action. The multiple frames per second would be handy.
