Binoculars w/camera?
Has anyone seen those binoculars that take pictures? Does the camera take really good pictures or is this just pretty much a novelty item?

binocular camera
I've wanted to buy one of these since I went to the rolling stones concert and they wouldn't even allow a camera in the building.
If you go to a rolling Stones concert, they will search you and you will be forced to take your camera back to the car before you are allowed entry.
I'm not sure what the picture quality would be or how you go about getting them developed.
A great idea would be is to make portable binoculars that double as cameras and you can take them into your one hour photo lab and get them developed just like those throw away cameras.

I got my hubby a pair of Meade CaptureView binocular & digital camera. That way he could prove the big one that got away while hunting. I wouldn't recommend them. The binocular part works okay, and the camera part works okay. But you can't take very clear pictures with it, nor can you take far away shots, and why else would you need the binocular part? I don't think we ever got a picture downloaded off it. I guess we put it in a corner and forgot about it. This model hax 640X480 resolution and stores up to 400 images.

Was the set pretty expensive? My hunter husband would love a gift like that.

I have seen them advertised in catalogs for around 110.00. I really don't know if that is a good quality price or if it's just some cheapy. Either way, right nowI can't afford one anyway

Thanks for the advice, sounds like maybe they aren't quite as good as I thought they might be.

I do know that having something like that would be sooooo awsome though... I mean maybe not in all situations but for those out doors and bird watchers it might be rather nice

I got the one for my husband through Radio Shack for about 90.00. They are fun to play with. I use them while hunting and let hubby use the bigger binoculars for spotting the deer. He thinks I can see fly poop on a gnat's butt at a 1000 yards anyway. I disagree with him, but then, I do find the big bucks hiding in the stubble fields! They are a small size and easy to fit into your pocket while walking. And the pictures aren't all that bad.
