Canon Digital Rebel XT
Anyone else absolutely in love with this camera? I almost feel like it's taking the pictures for me, rather than the other way around.

I was thinking of forking out the cash for one of these. I've been comparing prices/features between the canon and olympus evolt e-500. Seems that the canon gets better reviews--just a little more pricey.

Is that the monster that can take 3 frames per second? We've been drooling over a Canon for the past six months that started out at a pricey $1000 and has dropped to $800. Our experience with digital cameras is that they drastically lose their value the second we put them in our camera bag.

It is said monster. It's completely adaptable to expansion, though, so I can't imagine it losing value.

I'd like to think it would retain its value, but I keep wondeing how much better can cameras get. Five years ago when we bought our first digital with less than a megapixal, I couldn't imagine a 10 mp camera. I can't even begin to imagine what will happen in 10 years. Regardless, sites exist where a person can get the Canon for much less than the otc price.

Yes- that camera (Canon- Rebel) is the one that I am coveting at the moment. I know that cameras will get better, but that one is so awesome that I think it will hold it's own for quite some time.

It's also on CNET.com's Top 10 list for cameras.

I saw THAT. I believe it's the high end camera recommended.
