Question Multiple frames per second pics

Is there a digital camera out there other than the latest Canon brand that takes multiple frames per second? All of the digital cameras I've worked with take a literal second to take a picture, and that doesn't work well with action shots.

I have the Canon Powershot A700 and believe that Canon is making the fastest camera, point and shoot wise. Go to an SLR model for great multiple frames shots.

Anyone who wants to do any amount of real photography is going to appreciate the fastness (is that a word?) of the Canon. I worked for a newspaper a couple of years back, and getting a good action shot was near impossible with a digital camera.

Default For actions shots it's necessary
