Default What exactly is a DVD?

A DVD is also known as a Digital Video Disc. Movies that were once on VHS have now been moved to DVD. For the first time, DVD sales have outnumbered VHS sales and it costs less to put things on DVD.

Movies aren't the only things that are on DVD. People are putting their digital pictures on a DVD and can go to their local photo outlet and get pictures printed at a low cost.

As far as movies go, you don't have to rewind them and you don't have to worry about the quality going bad on the tape.

Of course, the only bad thing that I can come up with about the DVD is that it can scratch easily, but a DVD can hold so much more and the sound from a DVD is so much better, no matter what kind of sound system you may have.

It is so weird that DVD's are replacing everything. It seems just like yesterday when we were moving everything to VHS.. I remember when VHS was cool. Now if you tell anyone you only have a VCR...i think they might actually die laughing.

Even my grandma has a DVD player!

You might want to fix your post, DVD actually stands for digital versatile disc since 4 or 5 years ago.

they are a good invention better then VHS film all over the living room and pounding on the vcr to get the film to quit getting sucked up in it... But the scratches do stink I hate that.
