Can anyone help me?

I am looking for a dvd recorder that finalizes quickly. Mine takes five minutes to finalize five minutes of recording!

Isn't it dependant on the discs you use ie. dvd+ or - and also if you've only used five minutes surely finalizing means writing to the entire disc, so the more space left the more time it takes to finalise?

ok, so you guys seem to think that the panny e85 is the way forward.

i have another question, can you get dvds that only hold upto half an hour of footage? because if the recorder is finalizing the whole disc regardless of the length of recording on there surely that would be quicker?

and whilst i am here what about re-writeable discs, do they have to be finalized and if they do not are they still compatable with other machines?
