Question imitation of reality v. morality

I'm wondering what the general forum's opinion is on the host of unnecessary bad language found in movies today. Is the language necessary (along with the sexual innuendos, sexual content, nudity, and violence) to reflect reality? Do films really reflect life with this immorality?

I think it is realistic to a point. They are people out there who behave the way some characters in the movies and on tv behave. I think most of it isn't being realistic. Yes, we all have things in our closet that we want to try or like to think about, but it seems that movies with violence, language, and sex sell, so that is what the movie makers are making.

Do they really sell? I remember seeing a statistic (will have to search for it now) how the highest grossing films in the past few years were deemed "family" films. Not the R-rated films.

I have lived all over this country and R rated films are getting closer to life or maybe life is getting closer to them, trying living in CA for a while.

Ya, the biggest grossing films over the last few years have been those Pixar or Disney films....I guess that is saying something.

After travelling most part of this country it’s hard to judge whether life is getting closer to reality shows or reality shows are getting real.
