I didn't know they did that with cartoons. I'm guessing that B&B and LM came out b/f computer generation, and that with digital remastering, techs were able to make the film clearer.

With movies the age of Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid, you won't find much of a difference between the original and the remastered versions. However, with older movies, say the original Star Wars movies, there are differences. The picture is clearer, mistakes were able to be removed, etc. Remastering can also help make the master copies of the movies last longer, so people can enjoy them in the future.

Maybe when they redid the Disney movies they took out the secret nudity in certain scenes.

I agree about the SW movies, though. They ARE much better.

Why is there not a demand to remaster all the old movies?

Probably because the younger generation are the main purchasers of movies and so forth and have no desire to see those "old" movies!!

Ya, there is no doubt that some of the older shows/movies/cartoons are making a comeback, but it seems they all have to be reintroduced before their popularity begins to climb again.
