I put a loose subwoofer on top of my DVD player without realizing it had a big magnet on it. Now my DVD player doesn't work properly. When I plug it in, the standby light comes on but if I try to turn it on or do anything else with it, it just gets a little jolt of power (i'm guessing) because the disc moves for a split second, then stops and goes back to standby. What exactly happened and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hi Friend,
You should try the disc in a different player If the disc plays properly in a different player then your player is likely at fault. Contact the manufacturer of your player for a firmware upgrade. Or, if you bought the player recently, you may wish to return it for a different model.
