An unexpected (and unwanted) surprise struck some 145,000 BlackBerry users in the UAE this time last week, when an official looking prompt coerced many of the aforesaid Etisalat customers to follow through with a software update. Rather than bringing about performance enhancements, the SS8-built app enabled the carrier to keep tabs on customers’ messages. According to RIM“Etisalat appears to have distributed a telecommunications surveillance application… independent sources have concluded that it is possible that the installed software could then enable unauthorized access to private or confidential information stored on the user’s smart phone. Independent sources have concluded that the Etisalat update is not designed to improve performance of your BlackBerry Handheld, but rather to send received messages back to a central server.Like we said, yikes. The zaniest part is that Etisalat isn’t backing down, still assuring the world that the upgrades were “required for service enhancements.” At any rate, RIM has made remarkably clear that the update wasn’t one authorized by the company, and it’s even providing an app remover for those who’d prefer their BlackBerry to be in working order and, you know, not forwarding all their email to some dude in an Etisalat supply closet

There is this website I have been working with they are now planning to launch a mobile version of their site. The thing that I have been worrying about is the duplicate content as this mobile site will be displaying the same products with the same titles and descriptions. Would Google see the mobile formatted sites differently for the SERPs compared to the regular websites? Is it possible for a website to get penalized by Google for being a mobile formatted site with similar content? Any comments on this?

Hey folks,
I am experiencing something really strange with unusual traffic activity and I’d like to get your opinions on them. Direct traffic on Google is complicated and unpredictable. You can never say how your visitors are finding their way to the site. This is why there are spikes and falls in these graphs. However, a client of mine has been seeing wavy results, which are strange. His traffic remains steady for a while, and then drops off the charts. Then it again returns to the same position. The website is not regularly updated. And these are not caused by newsletters or emailers either. So how are these consistent rise and falls happening?
Thanks.

Hi all,

I have a website for the local market and have a comfortable position. I have about 3 different domains that offer visitors blogging platforms that can be used by them to start their own blogs.

I wanted to know what the best strategy for blog posting is. I want to use these in each of these blogs. Is posting the same content on different blog platforms advantageous, than posting on 1 blog? If not, then would it be better posting a blog with very similar content and rephrased words? I would really like to know your opinions in this matter. I appreciate it.
Thank you

I bought a new 46" LG LCD last week. It has the wireless ability with a wireless USB adapter. So, I purchased an adapter Sunday to get the wireless capability set up to start with Netflix and other applications. However, I could not get the wireless to work. Does not recognize the adapter.
Called LG technical support and per them only "their" wireless adapter will work with the TV. Anyone else come across this and able to use another wireless adapter?
Don't want to fork out another $60 for a wireless adapter to the manufacturer...lol

Thanks in advance,

Efficient and expert teams are a prerequisite for embedded software development.
This is to ensure that they can work in tandem with client needs. In order to meet all these demands, it is wise to partner with IT service partners who can implement embedded solutions successfully. Companies can also enjoy high ROI and increased operational efficiency using these solutions.

Hi all,

I have been unable to find the right solution for this.
I am working on a project about inventory listing. All purchased items can be tracked down by the organization based on these lists. These items are recorded when they arrive, and the details printed down in a receipt form. The trouble is I can’t seem to align the dot matrix printers to print on the forms, which already have some preprinted details. I have no experience in printing programming and would like to know what tools or plugins I should use. Would it be easier to implement using PHP?
Thanks

Hey everyone,
Is there any section for Java Programming? I recently switched from C++ to Java, as I had a teaching assignment for programming in Java. I would really appreciate, if anyone here could help me find some good tutorials on Java.
I am also on the route to learning Netbeans and would like to know its advantages or disadvantages, which would include any information about SDK, and whether using a command prompt window is good enough? I would appreciate any help in this quarter and would be very grateful for it. I look forward to reading your replies.
Thank you.

I had an old laptop, the system was too slow, i am not sure whether i had viruses but i knew i can't go for reformatting of the hard drive because i had important files on my system, i had no clue what exactly would take to fix my computer, then i heard about iFixo from my neighbour Lesley, i got their support number and called them, i didn't expect anything when i dialed the number, a helpdesk lady transferred the call to the technician and i told them all the problems i face with the computer, i was facing problems connecting to the internet also, so they troubleshooted and within no time i was on the internet, i was pretty pleased, and i knew they mean business, the guy Derek was very polite, he started some basic troubleshooting steps after which he scanned my computer with my antivirus program. We couldn't find any viruses, so i was relieved, he then took my computer on remote assistance and started troubleshooting. What really satisfied me was that he kept telling me what he was trying to do and why, i was very comfortable working with him and after 40 mins or so, he fixed the problem, he asked me to restart my system and believe me, it booted up in no time, earlier it used to take 5-7 mins for my computer to boot to the windows screen, i was amazed, i asked him to pass the call to his supervisor and gave some positive feedback about the total experience and resolution.
After two days, i again received a call from the Quality team for the feedback, i was really happy, they seemed really concerned whether the issue still exists or it was completely resolved, i told them i am no more facing any problems and asked them to close my case as resolved. Excellent customer service, really
I am very satisfied and would recommend all users who faces problems as such to get iFixo help

I have a problem that I hope you can solve. On the local web server of my pc, there is a character that gets through with sending the HEX(E5) but when transferring the text containing that code to my webserver page; it gets substituted with other characters. I have to then specify &#EX5, and that works. I have tried contacting the server with this problem but they are not responding. Can someone tell me what is the problem here? Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?
