I went by a BB today at lunch and found 2 Toshiba HD-A1s. So naturally, I picked one up. They had a terrible set up at this particular BB. The demo unit was hooked to a 13" LCD monitor. The demo disc was playing, but there was NO output on the screen (it was black). It was all I could do to keep myself from ejecting the demo disc and sliding it in my box... Maybe, that's why they still had 2 sitting there on the shelf... I consider myself lucky.

Anyway, now that I've got a player, what is the best HD DVD transfer you've seen? From everything I've read it would be between Chronicles of Riddick, Training Day, Apollo 13 or maybe Doom. I'm talking about AV quality here not movie quality.

So, in your opinion, what is the current "reference" HD DVD?
