Posted one thread previous about my building a new system for my family room. Trying to keep cost down (like everyone), and I just don't have the ears or knowledge to tell the difference between top of the line stuff and avg stuff.

The JBL HTi8 speakers are of interest to me. How do they compare to the NHT IW3 speakers? I will be using them for fronts and surrounds. My system will be 95% for music, which is almost entirely heavy metal (Metallica primarily). And what about the JBL HTi-55 for a center?

Open to suggestions on a center and other inwall speakers for fronts and surrounds that are in the same price range. Can get either the NHT or JBL fronts and surrounds for @ $500 total from what I have seen at online stores. Also, suggestions on online stores is appreciated.

I am waffling between the Marantz SR 5600 and the Harmon Kardon AVR 635 for the receiver. Also can be had for within a few dollars of eachother.

Suggestions, comments, thoughts?

I have 95% settled on the SVS 20-39 PCi cylinder sub unless people can talk me out of it for some reason.

And to further be a pain in the butt. I am needing a new CD player, preferably a 5 disc that is cheap but will match up and work well with the above receivers. My current 5 disc is ancient. About 13 years old.
