Sony 90ES + S300 DVD Questions!!!!!!
Ok,first off the 90ES doesn't have DTS. I personally can not tell the difference between DTS and DD. I think people who say they can have way too much time on their hands or are using test equipment. (if you can't hear the difference ... who cares)Second, keep the DVD player you have. The 90ES have a decoder in it so it would be a waste to pay extra for a DVD player with one. The third generation of of the S300 should be out by May and it will be able to read DTS and pass the signal along. You would still need a DTS decoder. The component outs are a waste unless you have component ins on your TV.Third, make sure your 90ES is setup right. If you don't have a subwoofer make sure it doesn't think you do, and vice versa. Make sure your speaker levels are correct. And last, make sure your source is in Dolby. The 90ES will playback in any soundfield you want regardless of source (ie, a two channel CD can be played back in dolby prologic, it sounds like crap but it can be done)
