Default Camcorder

A camcorder is a portable electronic device (generally a digital camera) for recording video images and audio onto a storage device. The camcorder contains both camera and recorder in one unit, hence its portmanteau name. This compares to previous technology where they would be separate.

Anymore it seems like everyone uses digital camera's. The old style camcorders were very popular when they first came out. I can remember my family taping every event there ever was. Ball games, holidays, just days around the house when everyone was home. I'm sure my parents still have a million VHS home movies that no one has actually ever watched. I remember my dad recording my basketball games and then after the game we would watch it. I also thought that was boring to watch what we just played. Now with the digital recorders, it seems that people are more sensible in that they tape.

Default Digital

Digital allows us to edit and enchance our work via computer photography editing programs. In the old tape cam corders---what you saw was what you got---like the gym floor and a fast rolling snesatiin when the photographer rolled over a chair he didn't see while filming.

A digital camcorder can take digital stills but is best for video. The stills aren't the highest quality compared to a digital camera but are ok. I have a Canon elph digital camera and take it everywhere. My digital camcorder is the Canon MC40 and is nice and small, but I don't take it everywhere because I'd rather look at pictures than watch a video.

I agree, certain things are meant for certain purpose. I mean you can't expect a phone to click as good as a digital camera.

Camcorders, they are great for videos and fine for stills.
