Default How do I connect my new Samsung LCD HDReady TV to my Laptop?

Hi I have just bought a new Samsung 73 series HDReady LCD TV and would like some advice on the best way of connecting to my new laptop.

In the instuctions manual under 'Connecting HDMI/DVI' it says:
'Do not attempt to connect the HDMI/DVI to a PC or Laptop Graphics Card'. (This will result in a blank screen being displayed). Also in the back of the manual under 'Setting the PC' it also says 'DVI does not support PC function'
It says to connect the computer:
'Connect the D-Sub cable (optional) to "PC (PC IN)" on the rear of your set and the other end to the video card of your computer'
I've read elsewhere that a DVI connection is better as it is digital to digital and there's no analog to digital conversion needed. Also I have read that it depends on the quality and the electronics on the LCD. Since my Samsung is brand new and cost £639 ($1200) and clearly doesn't use DVI for PC connection, I can only assume that there is a reason for this and the picture quality will still be optimum by connecting the PC by the way it says. Do you know? and what sort of cable do I need to buy and will I still get optimum picture quality?
