Hoping someone can help me with my quest for my perfect laptop. Here are my criteria; I know it's a rather tight list but there are at least a few that fit the bill that I know of.

Must haves:
- DVD drive
- <5 lbs
- 9"-12" screen
- Respectable battery life
- proven reliability (i.e. good reviews)
- <$1000

Preferred:
- modular bay
- Less than 4 lbs
- good performance stats
- <$800
- world peace?

So far I think my perfect laptop is the Fujitsu P5020, as I've heard only good things. Any others I'm overlooking? The Sonys seem promising, but I get the feeling the extra bells and slick styling aren't worth the cost premium? Are there any older (i.e. cheaper) Sonys that have proven to be reliable?
