Retrofitting higher resolution screen into a notebook...possible???
So I've been looking really hard at notebooks and after much searching, I think the Thinkpad X60s looks perfect...except that the screen is only a 12.1" XGA.
On the other hand, I currently have a Toshiba M200 with a 12.1" SXGA+ screen. My question is, is there a chance in hell that I might be able to swap the two screens. Forget about it being difficult from a manual standpoint, what I would like to know is, are screens like this usually designed to be interchangeable and are the odds good that cabling will be compatible, electrically compatible, physically compatible enough, etc. For example, I know that the M200 and M400 come with both a XGA and SXGA+ screen option. Does that mean anything if I wanted to swap a different screen into the X60s?
I don't really know much about the details of LCD's in laptops, but I'm hoping someone here does!
