Post Avaratec 1000 Series

This $071 machine received a 6.2 Editors' Rating. Editors state that it's one of the least-expensive ultraportables that they've seen, yet its performance almost matches that of much costlier models.

Personally, it's always nice to see a laptop near that $1000 mark.

I don't know how a budget notebook could really cost about one thousand dollars! Outside of business use, people buy computers for personal and school use. For college kids, they are needing to have laptops in order to go to class. Because of the increase in high school and college computer use, many computers are now between $700-1000, more affordable for this reason. These computers also have the capacity to handle whatever projects the students are doing. So, for personal or school use computer I would look around and see what you can actually get for a decent price. Your not running a business, therefore you don't need every capability.

So true, yellowbird. I had a difficult time with the "budget" label on these as well . . unless CS doesn't understand the real word of "budget."
