I guess I have been calling LCD and Plasma TV's the same thing. What is the difference between the two of them?

I thought that Plasma TV's were the larger ones and LCD's were the smaller ones.

Can anyone explain the difference?... In regular person terms..not crazy mumbo jumbo!

LCD=Liquid Crystal Display. In "regular person terms," look at it this way: imagine each pixel as a tiny light bulb. The light bulbs turn on and off and display different colors depending on what's needed.

Plasma uses tiny flourescent lights. Plasmas also stop working after so many years becase they literally run out of the gas they use to transmit light.

Thanks for the input. I really don't think I want to invest in a plasma then, huh? I always thought that would be the way to go, but since you explained it a little better, I may have some ssecond thoughts on that.
