Self explanatory title really...

The menu has vanished, so when i click on the apple symbol nothing happens (just turns a colour that it normally does with no drop down menu). The menus under the software name [some software eg Firefox] don't work fully... just the "ABOUT program" showing.

I have repaired disk permissions... but when i go to "repair disk" its shadowed out (as i think it always has been) and so cannot be clicked on.

Any ideas anyone?
