Cannot SEE external sagem 800 modem
Hi
I have just got hold of an iMac G3 with OSX 10.2 and have a few problems.
The main one is that I cannot install the tisacli Sagem 800 external USB modem. The iMac meets installation requirements.
The OS doesn't see it in the ADSL panel which appears after reboot nor anywhere that I could see in network/modem list or giving me the option ot find one.
The ADSL panel says the "modem is unplugged". I tried both USB sockets
( which work OK with my keyboard ).
I ran a virus scannerand nothing was found.
I tried your first tip which was Repair Disk Permissions. That repaired some permissions but still I couldn't see the modem.
I had uninstalled and reinstalled the modem from the disk several times.
I then tried the 2nd fix. Apple + S doesn't seem to work/run ( nor does the Help, nor double-clicking a file to open).I cleared the library cache.
Why would this stop me seeing or installing the modem properly?
I have only a few files on my imac that I wnat to keep really - do you think a clean install the best way to go or should I try archive and install?
Sorry - I am confused. Please help.
