Ah, where do we start. Ejecting is something you'd do generally to a physical piece of media, such as a CD-ROM, although there is an exception to this in the Mac with a specific packaged format of data. If you want to get rid of a file, you'd probably want to Delete it, not Eject. What exactly are you trying to get rid of, how are you trying to get rid of it, and what error message are you getting, or what problem are you encountering?

If you try highlighting the item you want to remove, and dragging it to the Trash can, what happens?

Well when you try to delete it, the delete word doesnt pop up on the file menu, eject does, so it would have to be a packaged format of data. So, I cant delete it or eject it. Dont know exactly what it is, but I have tried dragging it to the trash, going to file and clicking eject, nothing works. It just sits there non the desktop as if I never tried to delete it.

Did you right click and go duplicate? Ever since Tiger it's made it so it will not eject on every machine here.

I have exactly the same problem with one of my files. dont know where it came from, its called "no name" and is sitting on my desktop and in my hardrive. When I open it there is nothing in there, but it will not eject. I will try to see if I can simply delete it. didn't try that - thanks. Can you suggest anything else incase this does not work?
