Default Can I connect to a wireless network through another computer?

HI there...I have a work laptop that is not wireless enabled for security concerns and I work from home. However, I do not have sensitive information on my computer, so I would like to use it in my living room, but the router is in the bedroom. Is it possible for me to somehow configure my wireless personal laptop to receive the wireless signal and then for me to plug in my work laptop to my personal one so that I can use my work laptop in my living room. Or do I just have to have it plugged into the router at all times? Thanks!

What OS is on your personal laptop?

In Windows XP go to the Network Connections icon in Control Panel, select the wireless and Ethernet connections, right-click and select Bridge Connections. The laptop will now pass traffic between its wireless and Ethernet interfaces.

Make sure you disable or appropriately configure any firewalls you are running for this to work properly.

Ok I tried that, and it said...'To create a network bridge, you must select at least 2 LAN or High-speed internet connections that are not being used by Internet Connection Sharing'

I went to 'Control Panel' of my personal laptop bc I dont see it on my work laptop. The 2 laptops were connected thru an ethernet cable when i tried this.

The instructions above were for your personal laptop, then you just connect the two laptops togather via a crossover cable. You will need to have both the Ethernet and wireless connection selected at the same time (use the Ctrl key) when creating the bridge. Sorry I didn't explain that well before
