Default merging wireless connections?

I have been wondering the past couple of days the possibility of merging multiple wireless APs into a single internet connection. I currently have two broadband connections connected to seperate wireless routers on different LANs. I would like to connect my laptop simultaneously to both internet connections wirelessly to increase speed across multiple websites/ftp/p2p...etc. without disrupting my current LAN setup.

Is this possible and how could it be accomplished?
Would I need two seperate wireless NICs or would something like VirtualWifi work?
Windows or Linux?

Thanks for any help and sorry if it's been disscussed before, but I couldn't find anything concrete in my searches.
