Default AP for metro wireless network

Greetings again,

I'm setting up a network in a metro area and could use a recommendation for which access points to use.

It's [going to be] an 802.11a network using directional antennas to connect a small amount of fixed locations up to 8km (~5 miles) apart in a 1:1 fashion - one AP+antenna to one other AP+antenna.

A simple diagram of the planned layout can be found here. (not to scale, colours are for clarity only, etc)

We'll be using WPA2, and would like to use APs with firewall and/or vpn support in case it becomes necessary in the future.

So, can anyone recommend an AP that would fit the bill without being too expensive?
