Default Lost Network after modem install

I removed one external modem and replaced it with another. The uninstall and install seemed to go without problems. When I choose to connect, there seems to be no problem, modem appears active. If I attempt to go to any site or my email accounts, I get a network server error. page not found. Host not found. What happened? This is probably a windows problem (win98SE) and not the modem but how do I fix it?

Default Lost Network after modem install

Hi Friend,
I have been facing the same problem, but i don't know how to fix it. Now I am thinking to discuss with the tech support people about my problem. And you can also discuss your problem with tech support people, hope they will solve yours as well.

Thanks,
James

I'm in the same boat but with my whole network..

I had everything working and then I had an "upgraded modem" arrive today.

I followed all the steps to get the modem online and had a bit of trouble.

I called tech support and they finally got me online, yay, but now my printer and the other PCs on the net are gone!

Worse yet I have to print my irs extension forms and sign them before leaving for the EU. I have 2hrs left until the cab shows up, and the nerd next door isn't home for another 45mins.

I figured I'd do some searches but I'm not finding much since it's such an open ended problem and I don't want to lose my connection to the net trying.

:P

I am sorry chap; I don’t know how you can locate the lost network. You can seek help from the customer care staff of the modem.

That means your OS does not support this hardware, so you will need to update your OS or change modem again..
