Smile Oregon Trail

Alot of you should remember the Oregon Trail game you played on the computers when you were in school. They have an updated version of the game. It is really fun. I never thought I would see that game again. Did everyone else like the game??

Default Oregan Trail New Really!!!

Wow, are you serious that they have made a new Oregon Trail. That game was really fun when I was younger. Does this new game have the same concepts with fifty times better graphics or what? I can’t wait to check out what it is like. I remember having some unlucky times with that game. One minute I would be doing good, the next I would have some illness and all my oxen would be stupid enough to try swimming in the river and drown. Those were some fun times back in the day. I’ll be looking into this new game soon.

Smile Oregon Trail returns

I was amazed when I found it. Everyone that I have told had the same response. "That was such a cool game" . The graphics are much better, but same concept and you can get killed just as easy. Last time I played I got shot by my own family. hehe

If you were in elementary school during the early 1980s, chances are you were playing Oregon Trail on an Apple II. I found this game description, for those of you unfamiliar with it:

Try taking a journey by covered wagon across 2000 miles of plains, rivers, and mountains. Try! On the plains, will you slosh your oxen through mud and water-filled ruts or will you plod through dust six inches deep?

How will you cross the rivers? If you have money, you might take a ferry (if there is a ferry). Or, you can ford the river and hope you and your wagon aren't swallowed alive!

What about supplies? Well, if you're low on food you can hunt. You might get a buffalo... you might. And there are bear in the mountains.

At the Dalles, you can try navigating the Columbia River, but if running the rapids with a makeshift raft makes you queasy, better take the Barlow Road.

If for some reason you don't survive -- your wagon burns, or thieves steal your oxen, or you run out of provisions, or you die of cholera -- don't give up! Try again... and again... until your name is up with the others on The Oregon Trail Top Ten.

Default oregon trail

I remember playing Oregon Trail when I was in the sixth grade.

OUr class was given special things if you got your homework done and I always the first one done and wanted to play on the computer.

I asked the teacher if there were any games to play and he showed me the Oregon Trail.

I remember having to press the space bar to shoot the arrows that would kill animals. This would give me food to survive on.

This was a fun game and I can't wait to find it and teach my children someday.

We played OT II(ver1.3) the 25th anniversary edition.Got it as a Christmas gift.It was so cool.We had competitions to see who was the best. It was the home version for PC. I liked the backround music while shopping at the general store for supplies. Trading for needed items was fun, too. I liked the booklet of valuable info that came with the program. It had all kinds of geographical and historical references to aid in the trail crossing. It had lots of info about the different illnesses and medicines of that time period....good game strategies, too. Fun while learning...what a concept!...I'd like to try the new version,too....
