I'm not saying that it can't happen, though.

The article also addresses this, but the anonymity and controlled environment at home makes the addiction that much easier. So even though a person might not be attracted by gambling in a casino does not mean he will be able to withstand the desire while at home. Know that I'm not talking about you, Kitkat, but just Joe-schmo in general.

I have never played online poker for money, but I have found a few free learning sites that I have practiced on. I did it more so because sometimes after work a group of us will play a few games of poker. I didn't really understand the game so I had to learn somehow. I don't think I would ever play online with money. There has been a lot of concern in the news about online gaming. I'm sure it is just as addicting if not more that casino's or lottery machines. I can see how it can be addicting, especially when you are winning. I guess if you play with caution and common sense and for fun, you might looses a little money but you had fun.

No offense taken, technt77. I guess for me poker is a game. I don't take it seriously. When you bet money, it becomes serious. I have too many serious things in my life as is. I don't need, or want, another.

Maybe the problem is just the addiction part as well. So many people get hooked on electronic games. The biggest difference here, obviously, is that a person's family loses more than just time with that person.
