click start

click on run...

type in "dxdiag" and press enter

near the bottom of the window you should see "DirectX Version - DirectX 9.0c (4.90.000.blah blah blah)"



If you see something different you need to update directX from the microsoft website.

No offense but your computer isn't High End.

Anyways do what everyone else been saying Reinstall all the required drivers (dx9.0c, latest catalyst driver) and install the lastest painkiller patch if there is one.

Just run the EXE, click on the interface, copy & paste the info into a posting...can't get more simple than that...
