They said they were targeting a "pixar" style with the graphics. Its not meant to look realistic because thats been done to death 4000 times over since the original team fortress was released. I dont think it looks like its for young kids... it just looks like a cartoon.

I think TF2 and Portals are refreshing. I'm getting so tired of the ultra realistic look and gameplay that have been used in nearly every FPS since they became popular.

It figures that graphics *****s would be turned off by one of the more original and stylish character art designs to come out in years.

You guys notice that when they show the scout and one of the other characters that the level in the background is 2Fort, and the spy when peaking around the corner is also 2Fort but at the bottum of the ramp to the basement?

Also the game looks like its going to be graphically beautiful, people say kiddie graphics/games and such are being foolish. If a game actually could make me feel like a child again that would be awesome, running around laughing having a general good time.

One final kudos for Valve is the fact that thier net code has always been great, CS:S with 64 players, Dod:S with 32 players and all lag free (except for maybe some dialup users).
