Wireless Connection, Gaming Issues.
Ok, I've been dealing with connection issues for five days and I've found the source of the problem (This is for both CS:S and DoD:S).
I have a wireless, Netgear modem which I'm connected to via a USB hub (whatever you call it).
Previously, I had been playing while connected through the card, but now I can't. I know it's the USB because I plugged my computer directly into the router with an Ethernet cable and everything worked fine.
If you're thinking there's a wall or something causing the problem, don't. I placed the computer three feet from the modem while using the card to connect, and nothing loaded.
Now, Mozilla and pretty much anything else I've tried work fine, but not Steam's games. I've even played World of WarCraft without problems.
The only difference is that the time CS:S worked with the card is that the guys from our ISP (Roadrunner) setup the connection. However, when I had to do it (Due to my system crashing and needing a restore) I had them walk me through it.
The USB is an 802.11 Wireless LAN network adapter. And, nine times out of ten, I have perfect signal.
