I hope the weapons have some backbone to them.

The weapons in BF2 just seem weak to me. Maybe its the sound effects or animations.

If they get the balancing right in this one (i.e: vehicles and snipers don't own everything) then it could be something special. The fact that this is set in the future means they can be more creative with the weapons and not be restricted as much.

I have my eye on the development of this game constantly, I hope EA get this one right.

They got BF2 almost perfect, the bugs are easily over lookable if you know what yer doing and can have a good time. (Or simply have a kickass rig)

that is so awesome they finally gave the Sniper a way to take down Vehicles I mean in BF2 all I ever do is snipe (well most of the time any way) and it bugs the crap out of me because almost every one is in tanks and stuff if they are in cars I can just snipe them as they drive by but the tanks and stuff you cant hit em! I was just thinking this game was going to be ok... but now that I see the Sniper has some C4 (or whatever they use in 2142) I am going to go preorder this one!

That's good. I really like the customizable kits.

My only worry here is that the weapons will seem to similar or that BF2142, as a whole, will seem to similar to BF2.

Yea the custom kits are the selling point for me. And all the unlockables. It looks like they'll have tons of anti tank weapons so vehicles won't pwn. I saw something in there how anti tankers can upgrade to a anti-air gun. So helos wont be uber pwn anymore either.

i freakin love bf2, it really is a milestone in online gaming but there are some maps where aircraft totally dominate, the larger maps mainly and two of the euro maps. so i hope they get that right however the problem with having a game TOO balanced is that there is a constant stalemate, you sometimes see this in bf2 games where both teams are goin for the same flag and cos hardly anyone is playing in squads no tother flags are captured and the majority of the game stays around one or two flags. you do need some dominance bein a vehicle and not be afraid that any type of infantry can take you down.

either way i cant wait!
