Default Golf Course GPS

The SkyCaddie is a lightweight, hand-held, electronic golf course GPS that determines yardage to the green (and to other targets) on any course you play.

Featuring satellite GPS technology, SkyCaddie shows accurate measurements over hills, through trees and obstructions — no clear line-of-sight needed.

Onscreen distances, in yards or meters, are constantly updated on an easy-to-read LCD screen as you progress through each hole.

The programmable memory module allows you to store thousands of targets.

That sounds something the serious golfer would like. Personally, I don't see why they would need one. Isn't the distance to the green available at the tee?

It almost sounds like cheating, though I'm sure it's not (kind of like using sonar for fishing). I'm wondering what Arnold Palmer would say about the SkyCaddie. . .

I'm not a golfer, wo when I do golf it's for fun. Actually, I am the entertainment. People laugh at how I golf and how bad my score is. No, I don't play with anyone that's serious. But I think having a gps for golf sounds like taking the whole sport out of the game. I mean, what's up with that? I guess maybe I don't take things like golf as seriously as I should.

I love to play golf, but this is one tool that I do not need. It doesn't matter how close or far away I am to the hole, I never know where or the distance that my ball is going to go. I can estimate by visual distance which club to switch to. Yardage means nothing to me. Maybe, if I was very good, I would use it to measure you far I hit a ball, but not how far I have left to a hole. I'm sure it comes in helpful for some people though.

I think it kind of sounds like cheating. Wouldn't that take the fun out of the game?
