What's the advantage in having a PDA?
What's the advantage of purchasing an (overpriced) PDA over using the old pencil/paper organizer? I realize this might be a no-brainer, but I need someone to convince me to shell over the bucks.

Some people just prefer to store all their info digitally. It's easier than carrying a separate organizer, since you're carrying your phone anyway. It's just a matter of preference.

And then there are those of us who buy the PDA for the coolness factor, and never use the applications it comes with.

Now that's just sick . . . and funny. However, I suspect that this fact is all too true. I understand the idea of storing information digitally, and I suppose that having everything at the push of a button would be nice, but I still have a difficult time spending hundreds of dollars for something I could get for $15 at Target.

I completely agree that they are over priced. I do have one, but the idea of them sounds much better than what it is. I really was hoping to use mine for work as I have some protocols that I need to refrence from time to time. I typed all of these it, but it is impossible to read. It's like reading three word lines at a time, it's all chopped up, and your lucky if you fit an entire sentence on a screen. I use the calendar a lot, at times. All get in the mood to enter all my dates and what not into it, and then, as soon as I think I'm going to start carring it with me, I don't. So, in reality, I don't use mine. I really wish it was more versitle for me. Like I said, the idea was great.

I don't have one but they sound good. The only problem I have with is if lose it and all of your information is on it, you're toast.

True enough. Is there a way to back up your PDA, like with a memory card?

Some PDAs can interface with the computer, so you can download your information to the computer, or upload information to the PDA.
