You have to disable the IR Beam when using the serial port.

the SPV M1000 will work with Tom Tom 3 bluetooth kit then providing you disable the IR beam is that correct. I'm buying it if it does!

You only have to disable the IR beam for a wired system. Bluetooth works fine without disabling anything.

Oh right cool, i'll go buy one now i think then, such a good price here!! Is the standard Tom Tom GPS Bluetooth Receiver good, it appears that that kit is by far the cheapest way to buy everything needed, just wondered if the receiver wasn't very good or something?
Sorry that its off topic slightly!

I'm having the same problem with my XDA2. You mention disabling the IR port, how do you do this?
I don't think I have mine enabled.
Cheers

Only thing *wrong* with it is the low battery life....about 5 - 8 hours (varies depending on conditions) but apart from that its a good receiver.

Don't know if its the same menu structure as the M1000, but with that i would do, Start->Settings->Connections->Beam and then disable it in there!
