Default Orange SMS delivery notification on SPV M1000

I've always previously been faithful to O2 and Vodafone only the latter of which offers SMS delivery notifications. Now I'm with O2 and Orange I was looking forward to utilising the service again but I can't seem to find how to do this on my M1000.

On other phones it's easy as usually within the SMS menu there's a section about settings which contains message numbers, preferred format, validity time as well as requesting delivery reports etc.

But on the M1000 there's nothing other than a centre number.

Am I missing something or can I not access SMS delivery notifications on this phone?

I don't use Orange so can't say if it's possible on their network but I do know that they heavily brand the M1000 with their own menus etc...You may find that particular menu function has been disabled, removed or replaced. Contact their customer services team for clarification.

i've got an Orange M1000, and as with my P800 you have to activate delivery reports for each individual message, by going to the optons menu when writing that message, and theres a check box.

However for some reason there not coming through on my phone even by doing this!

Thanks for the info. I too had a P800 and I'd forgotten that method. Why there couldn't be a "set on for all messages" function defies belief. I'll see whether delivery notification works for me on Orange.

I know on O2 to get Delivery notifications you have to start your message with *0# (Asterix, Zero, Hash) then a space, then a space then your message.

Ain't got a clue about Orange

Didn't know O2 did sms delivery notification. But most phones should offer menu-driven set-up.

Indeed. Check the box and send. Comes back within a few seconds to say message sent and then a few more and a notification it's been delivered, assuming the destination phone is on. Give Orange a tinkle and see what they say.
