Post iPod vs Microsoft (zune)

Apparently Microsoft Corp announced on Friday, July 21, that they would be coming out with a device under the Zune label (yes, Zune) to compete with Mac's iPod. Sounds like they've got a real job ahead of them.

The report I read goes on to explain that this device should come out sometime before Christmas.

Here's the tough stats: the iPod holds more than half the digital media player market according to research company NPD, whiel iTunes accounts for over 70 percent of U.S. digital music sales.

While I love my iPod, I love free enterprise as well. So I say, "Go, Microsoft." Not that they need the business or anything, but it's always kind of nice to see one fat business seek a piece of the pie from another fat business. I think that's why Paris Hilton is coming out with a cd.

Is Paris Hilton a "fat business"? How in the world did that good for nothing chick wind up on technology forum! Just giving you a hard time- I agree- if Microsoft wants a crack at apple more power to them.

If you ever get one (as a gift or buy it), you'll love it . . . if you love music. I never thought I'd use mine as much as I do. But the minute I started running outside, I realized what a cool thing it was to carry around. I can listen to (free) podcasts that keep me in touch with life outside of our small world in the sticks.

Default About not knowing how to use an iPod

I have to admit as well, that when my husband gave me an iPod for Christmas per my request, I did not know how to run it. I still am figuring out some of its fun features. But in the end, all I care about is that I can listen to music and podcasts. They have a learning curve.

I have a nano that cost around $200 I believe. It's my favorite, but there are smaller and cheaper ones on the market. You don't HAVE to get the video iPod. I prefer to have my little nano.
