Podcast awards
It looks like Podcast developers are going to be developing their own awards show. They will call it the Podcast Peer Awards, and it basically dismisses other websites' top-10 lists of the most-downloaded podcasts nothing that "there are over 50,000 audio and video podcasts available. Most of htem are lousy."

Well naturally podcasters are gonna have their own award show. It seems like almost any industry nowadays has some sort of award or recognition show.

I just think it's kind of ridiculous to EXPECT some kind of award for what you're doing. Whatever happened to working to serve, to be fulfilled, to filling some kind of niche in society?

I agree with technt77. What ever did happen to just trying to make the world a better place and help make people's live a little better without someone want all t he glory. I really don't watch those awards either. There are lots of people in my life who volunteer to serve humanity, but yet expect no rewards. It just seems like a huge waste of money, that could go toward some charitable cause or something, like lowering the cost of fuel so we can go see our families. Can I get a amen?

Amen! Nowadays, people expect to be rewarded for every little thing they do, whether it's good or not. I like to do things that help other people or challenges me. I set goals for myself and try to meet those goals. The only satisfaction is knowing that I did a good job.

Preach it tiggapooh. I read just today a prayer asking God basically to not give the speaker so much that he'd forget about God and not so little that he'd desire to steal. Give me just enough, he said.
I nearly lose my lunch at those folks who need monetary rewards for what they do. Sure, we all deserve to earn a living for a hard day's work, but we don't deserve to rob the man we're working for.
