Default Microsoft's Zune

Microsoft finally came out with some concrete information about their new "iPod killer" or what they will call the Zune.

It will be a poartable music player that will let people share and sample tracks via wi-fi. Microsoft says they will use a hard drive, wi-fi, and owners will be able to buy tracks that are downloaded direct to the device.

The first player will come yet this year with more to follow in 2007.

The word Zune will be the term for the hardware player, the software on it, and the download service it will be tied into.

Microsoft did warn customers that they will offer only music at first with m ore content available later.

If I didn't own an iPod, I'd wait to see how the Zune turns out. Microsoft hasn't produced too many bad things yet.

From what I've read, it will be compatible with a PC but not with iPod software like iTunes (this is the program that iPod users use to download music.) It sounds like Zune will have its own software for that.
